PWD Pups available!!

At Snake River Water Dogs, We are a family of 5 who happen to have the best two dog breeds on the planet and LOVE puppies!  We will occasionally have a litter of Lagotto Romagno and Portuguese Water Dogs for adoption.  Visit the Puppy page for all available puppies.  To reserve your pup, we request a $500 deposit. We are located in Teton Valley, ID - Just below the beautiful Grand Tetons!

At Snake River WDs, we own family WORKING pets that happen to be d Portuguese Water Dogs.  We believe these water dogs are the best on the planet and the most versatile.  We use our PWDs as fly fishing lookouts as we live in Grizzly country, companion on jogs, bike rides, back country skiing, antler shed hunting, and household watch/guard dog. These puppies come from a sire and dam with a rich championship bloodline, but we are not interested in a pampered dog that serves no purpose to their family.  Could they be show dogs, absolutely, but we live and play in the Rockies and selected these breeds for their versatility.  When you purchase a pup, you will be provided with pedigree backgrounds which are impressive, but ultimately, this is a working breed, and our dogs are bred to work.  Our dogs have all been DNA tested and have been cleared of any genetic diseases.

PWD's are an amazing dog breed.  They are almost human.  From swimming in the snake river, to back country skiing, to duck hunting, the PWD seeks to please his owners.  They are great with all types of families and pets.  They come in 2 coat types, wavy and curly, and are non shedding.
